Description:
London: Victor Gollancz Ltd, 1963. First edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Very Good. 8" by 5". None. A smart first edition of this novel following the life of an American art professor in England, written by Scottish novelist John Innes Mackintosh Stewart. First edition. When American professor, Thayne Delver, travels to research the life of Matthew Tresilian, one of the greatest English painters of our century, he suspects that Tresilian may also turn out to be a very notable writer of the time. Written by John Innes Mackintosh Stewart, a Scottish novelist and academic. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is smart with light wear and minor chipping to the extremities. The odd small crease to the fly-leaves and the odd small closed tear to the panel edges. Light sunning to the spine and light marks to the panels. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot and minor age toning to the endpapers. Near Fine
