Description

No Dust Jacket New in publisher's shrink wrap (photo). Blemish - This copy appears to have been shelf-stored for a prolonged time with light exposure. There is a uniform toning band on the book's spine, along with a partial band across the top 2" of the front board. Book condition and competitive price downgraded accordingly. The remainder of the issue is new condition in every respect. Adapted from Wikipedia: This compilation is a selection of Laura Gilpin's photographs of the American Southwest and a discussion of her artistic career 7 years after her death in November, 1979. Her specialty was images of Native Americans, particularly the Navajo and Pueblo, in their native settings. This is the last among several previous publications honoring Ms. Gilpin's artistry. Gilpin began taking photographs as a child in Colorado and formally studied photography in New York from 1916 to 1917 before returning to her home in Colorado to continue her career as a professional photographer.
