Boston and New York: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1931. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good/Very good. Recounts the fourteen-year relationship between the author and his Scotch collie, told from the dog's point of view. Best known for his book A Dog-Puncher on the Yukon (1928), Walden (1871-1947) was a Klondike Gold Rush adventurer, dog driver, and participant in the first Byrd Antarctic Expedition. Illustrations by A.L. Ripley. Octavo. Original blue cloth binding, with light blue stamping. The dust jacket is browned along the spine and extremities, with some neat, but unnecessary brown paper reinforcement to the verso. A very good copy.
