The beauty of airplanes. The author is director of the National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution. He's also career Air Force and a pilot. He talks about the inventions, the engineering and the aesthetics of airplanes, as well as the human interest stories. Lots of beautiful photographs, including archival photos. The book is in fine condition. The dust jacket has a wrinkle at the top of the spine, but no tears. The author has signed on the front free end page (no inscription).
