"When I visited Palestine, I had no thought of writing a book about it," Opens Miller, Principle of the Madras Christian College and Fellow of the University of Madras, his foreword to the book. "I found, somewhat to my surprise, that (.) an ordinary visitor who tries to observe for himself can still do something to promote a better understanding of its topography and history." In his excellent study he concentrates on the Biblical places Michmash, Elah, Gilboa, and Shiloh, and the rich history that is connected with them. Previously in the collection of the Dutch Institute for the Near East, with a bookplate to that effect inside cover and a stamp to verso of title-page. F-5 OUT
