No true publication date in book. Circa 1908. NOT ex-library. Small hardcover (6.75 x 4.3 inches) has blue-green flexible leather-covered boards with gilt spine lettering and decorations. Green and white marble-printed endpapers. Green index ribbon. Top page edges gilt. Black and white frontispiece and 308 illustrations. Edited, and with an introduction by George Saintsbury. Binding tight. Hinges NOT cracked. Corners and spine ends bumped and rubbed, with some fraying at tips and spine ends. Half-inch tear to the outer covering at top of the back cover at the spine; also separated from the board along most of the top edge. Approximately an eighth of an inch missing from the head of the spine and corners rubbed through. Covers have light surface and edge wear, with light scratches. Pages lightly and uniformly tanned but still supple. Pages clean and unmarked. 601 thin bible-paper pages. Also includes "Miscellaneous Sketches Contributed by Thackeray to Punch" at end. No dust jacket. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.
