From the rear cover

With warmth, encouragement, and even humor, renowned Bible teacher Ray Stedman offers solid biblical comfort and counsel on Job's (and your) deeply personal and agonizing questions and helps you work through the problem of human suffering. In practical, everyday language, this beloved pastor and Bible teacher explains the seemingly perplexing mysteries of the book of Job--which echo the questions people have been asking since pain and suffering became a part of the human experience.
Stedman offers profound insights about the nature of suffering, the character of God, and the reality of your own humanity. The book of Job is probably the oldest book in the Bible, but its truths are still as relevant today as they were thousands of years ago. Even if you've studied this book many times before, you will discover in Stedman's
teachings fresh truths that will encourage you, like Job, to "let God be God," both in times of pain and peace.

Why does God allow affliction in my life?
Why doesn't He answer my prayers? What can I say to help people who are suffering? Why is life so unfair?
Is it a sin to question God about my suffering? Why do the godly suffer while the wicked prosper? Does God even care about my pain?
