About This Item
London: Bernard Lintot, 1704. Full leather. Very good. 16mo. Rebacked in matching brown calf, original boards show moderate wear to extremities; ffep missing, otherwise a clean, sharp copy. An important text in the history of philosophy and theology. At the end of Toland’s trajectory from Roman Catholicism to Presbyterianism to Deism to Pantheism, Toland cast an innovative immanentist metaphysic by way of Spinoza and Leibnitz.
