Paris: A la Tradition, 1947. A lovely edition of Descartes Discourse on Method. First thus. From an edition of only 400 (there were also 20 reserved copies for collaborators). This copy is printed on vélin d'Arches. 26 original copper engravings by CP Josso, including frontispiece, engraved title, 6 full page engravings, 12 vignettes and 6 end pieces (One for each of the six parts that the work is divided into). Pale green slipcase, with a matching pale green folder within. This has a paper label to the spine. (this is a little darkened). Inside this is a soft cover with title printed to the front. The text and illustration are in sheets (as published) in 16 un-stiched gathers. Half title, limitation (Justification du tirage).
