The first six Volumes of this magazine, which followed after Rand's publication The Objectivist ceased publication. All copies are Fine to Near Fine in maroon, stapled wraps that are all 5 ½ inches wide but that were trimmed in heights that range 8 ¼ to 8 ½ inches. The shades of maroon range from medium to dark. Some issues have slight edge wear, color loss along the spines, with touch of age toning along edges of the white, back cover. All issues are free of address labels. Each Volume is complete with six bi-monthly issues, EXCEPT that Vol. 6 has two copies of issue 2 and is missing issue 3. Total set is made up of 36 issues of the Forum. The set of six volumes is housed in a matching, maroon vinyl magazine file.

The Association was instituted in April 1848 and was later described by W N Calkins in his essay in the "Economic History Review" as "the most persistent and single-minded free trade body England had ever known". Its first president was Robertson Gladstone, elder brother of William Ewart, a merchant and banker who became Mayor of Liverpool when he was only 37.
