Light edgewear, light foxing and light age-toning throughout, several skilful repairs to spines and margins, a few pages uncut, leather slipcase spines are mildly cracked and mildly edgeworn ; The 19 original loose monthly parts are housed in two custom volumes probably made by George Zabriskie. Each volume consists or red cloth chemise with pull ribbon and double red cloth slipcases (exterior slipcase is one quarter gilt-tooled red leather with 5 raised bands). Vol I: parts I - X, Vol II: parts XI - XIX/XX. All 40 B&W plates are present with tissue guards. All advertisements appear to be intact. Many first issue points are present including publisher's imprint on first 4 plates, "latter" for "letter" on page160 line 6, "mercie" on page 270 line 15, "visiters" on page 272 line 2, notice of no plates in XIV with subsequent additional plates in XV. Other first issue points are lacking. This may indicate that parts were gathered from seperate sources, probably a more common occurrence than not. Photos available on request ; 8vo; 403 pages .
