First edition (there were two issues, the other lists "The Author" as publisher). 12mo in sixes. 226 pp. After traveling through Europe in the 1790s, Oehler arrived in Charleston in 1802, learned how to build hot-air balloons in Georgia in 1803, and made ascensions in Nashville, Natchez, and New Orleans in 1805 before moving on to Cuba and Mexico; returning to New Orleans in 1807, he continued on to Natchez again, Pensacola, Mobile, and Augusta, Georgia, eventually making his home in Asbury, New Jersey, by 1810. Howes O-25: "Narrative of a restless adventurer who operated throughout the southern states from Charleston to New Orleans." Sabin 56732 (for the issue published by "The Author").
