Hardback dustjacket, very good condition (in good dustjacket), spine faded jacket as common (some edge tears, spine ends chipped), few black & white photos, top edge little foxed, front endpapers lightly toned, minor edgewear, old price marks, owner's written name & date, protected by removable semiarchival plastic sleeve. 259 pp. Autobiography of Claude McKay, one of the co-founders of 'Smith's Weekly' and editor-in-chief from 1919 to 1927 and again from 1939 to 1950. This satirical and fearless investigative Sydney newspaper was mainly funded by Joynton Smith (businessman and Lord Mayor) and later by W. J. Smith of Australian Consolodated Industries (ACI).
