Early edition of M. L. Weems biography of Benjamin Franklin. First published in 1817 as "Life of Benjamin Franklin with Essays"...a bit different content. Considered one of the cornerstone biographies of Benjamin Franklin, written close to his time. Author brags that it contains "choice anecdotes and admirable sayings" never before published by any of his biographers.

Condition: Re-bound in contemporary leather as shown. Interior is complete, has typical foxing, with engravings scattered throughout. Nice firm binding with original stitching.
