[5], vi, [3], 4-344, [2] pp. Contemporary polished brown calf with three borders to each board (two in gilt), spine in six compartments with a maroon and a green morocco label lettered in gilt on each spine; all edges marbled. Marbled endpapers and pastedowns. An armorial bookplate on the front pastedown. A sharp copy of Carlyle's biography of his friend and fellow author, John Sterling. Minor wear to the extremities, overall a sharp copy.
