Two volumes in contemporary unsigned binding of half green crushed morocco over pale green buckram boards, five raised bands with red morocco label and gilt lettering back, marbled end papers, tops gilt. Very Good Plus, light rubbing at corners, scattered light toning, mainly at end papers and first few pages, small period bookseller labels rear end pages. Uncommon in fine contemporary binding and lovely condition. "Author, scholar, and educator George Ticknor was one of the preeminent American men of letters of his generation.
