In two volumes.  xii+412pp and xi+427pp.  1st edition.  Hardcovers.  Original binding with embossed designs on covers, lightly soiled but gilt on spine still bright.  Rear board of volume 1 is mottled and both volumes have the top two edge points gentle bumped. Internally, both volumes have a previous owners bookplate to the inside front board as well as his name penciled to the top of the title page.  Both tissue guards on frontispiece's are age toned with some off set to title pages, but otherwise pages are clean and bright.
