Both "Mackenzie" and "Jones" were names added by their holders; both had career problems regarding killing mutinous crew; both died young. This is a creditable biography, the best before Morison's. First published in 1841. An ex-library copy with perforated name on title-page, else good+ in publisher's stamped cloth binding, some wear to corners. Stock#OB010.

Interiors are good plus with bindings still solid. Makes a great set if rebound. Mackenzie was a officer in the US Navy and infamous for the execution of three sailors convicted of mutiny on board the USS Somers in 1842.
