A first edition. In the publisher's original cloth binding with the unclipped dust wrapper designed by Craig Dodd. With 16 pages of monochrome photographs. An exploration into the fascinating life of crime writer, Raymond Chandler, renowned for creating the heroic protagonist, Philip Marlowe. He is most known for his works, 'Farewell, My Lovely', and 'The Long Goodbye'. When writing this book, Frank MacShane was given access to the large collection of Chandler's own private papers, providing more clarity and detail into Chandler's life. With insertion of eleven cut-out newspaper articles regarding Chandler dated from 1976 - 2020. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, excellent with only minor shelf wear. Slight offsetting to the front and rear free endpapers. There is a small tear to the front free endpaper. The original unclipped dust wrapper is very bright and in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean. Fine
