Said to the the greatest biography written in the English language, this work reviews the life and works of Samuel Johnson, an English writer who made lasting contributions in poetry, playwrighting and as a critic. Written and edited by James Boswell, a Scottish biographer, diarist, and lawyer. He was best known for this biography of his friend and contemporary, Samuel Johnson. In the original brown morocco binding. Externally, a trifle rubbed with shelf wear to the extremities, boards and spine. Previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Good
