Description

London: John Murray, 1843. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Sub-titled .."with his journals, tours, and critical remarks on Works of Art: and a selection from his correspondence". Three volume set. Original burgundy cloth bindings with imprinted decoration on the top boards, printed paper title plates on spines. Spines are sunned and the boards are rubbed, but they remain neat and robust. Hinges and text-blocks fimr, page edges a little grubby. No inscriptions, markings or book plates. Some brown spots to preliminary pages, thereafter clean and clear. Frontispiece to Volume I is spotted around the margin, and the title page has darkened patch where it has pressed against the frontispiece. This is a good tidy set. May incur additional postage charges overseas.
