London: James Cochrane, 1832. Leather spine and quarter tips on marbled boards which are worn . Front board is detached. Internally there is a name to front pastedown and some foxing to early and later pages and some minor marks but generally this copy is very clean, tight and unmarked. FIRST EDITION. 312 pages. Portrait frontispiece. Contemporary name is Charles Dickson Inglis (1834-1910), Captain Royal Navy and as the book was published in 1832 this was possibly inherited or purchased secondhand. Mark Akenside (1721-1771) was an English poet and physician who became physician to Queen Charlotte, wife of King George III. A VERY SCARCE TITLE with only one copy recorded in the British Library.. 11 . First. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
