About This Item

Boston: Little, Brown, and Company. 1928. First US edition, first printing. First US edition, first printing. Original orange cloth with black lettering to spine and front panel, in the des Rosiers designed dustwrapper. A better than very good copy, the binding square and firm, the contents, except for a previous owner's name (dated 1928) written in pencil to the front free endpaper, are clean throughout. The page block edges are a little toned and some liquid appears to have been spilt on the upper edge which, although the pages remain straight and true, and the text is unaffected, has led to some light staining to the upper margins of a number of later pages. In the remarkably bright, original dustwrapper, lightly rubbed to corners and spine tips with the merest soiling to the spine panel. Correctly priced $2.00 net to the front flap. Another tale of international intrigue. A conference between the Great Powers being held in London is the setting for an elaborate plot involving war debts, espionage and world finance. (Hubin).
