Information provided about the location, electricity generation capacity, and physical plant for each of the eight steam-generating plants - Mandalay, El Segundo, Redondo, Long Beach, Huntington Beach, Alamitos, Etiwanda, and a small atomic experimental plant, Santa Susana. The manufacture of steam-generated electricity is explained and illustrated with photographs of the facilities. In addition, the SCE's Big Creek-San Joaquin River Hydroelectric Development, the hydroelectric generating plant in northern California, is briefly covered. B&w illustrations and photographs.
