London: Frederick Warne and Co, c1888. Cloth. Good. 9" by 6". Kate Greenaway. Kate Greenaway's colourfully illustrated poetry collection, a variety of poems by sisters Jane and Ann Taylor. The second edition, first printing, with 'Printed in Colours By Edmund Evans' to the tail of the front board'. This was removed in later printings. A collection of charming narrative poems by sisters Ann and Jane Taylor, containing poems such as 'The Boys and the Apple-Tree', 'The Field Daisy', 'Come and Play in the Garden', and more. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, and colour illustrations by Kate Greenaway throughout. Undated, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the V&A Museum Libraries. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper, date 1906. In the original publisher's half cloth binding with paper to the boards. Externally, boards are rubbed and discoloured. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Cloth is lightly rubbed. A few small marks to the boards. Front hinge is starting but firm. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with scattered spots. Good
