About This Item
Publisher's blue cloth back strip over lighter blue illustrated, paper-covered boards, octavo, pp. 167. Decorated endpapers. Photographic illustrations throughout. Pronouncing Vocabulary. Previous owner, a now deceased Armed Services retiree, kept this book from childhood and it bears a 1939 Christmas gift inscription on the front endpaper. The book is weary from many fond readings. Paper boards and cloth spine are rubbed. The paper has eroded at some spots on the bottom-edge and fore-edge of the upper board. Some foxing on fore-edge. A few child's pencil scribbles on rear panel. Withal, a charming sentimental relic, sound and serviceable, from the eve of WWII.
