Decorated cloth, G+. xvi+348pp+4pp publishers adverts, b/w frontis, 21 b/w plates, all edges gilt, 1 inch split in the cloth at the top of the upper hinge, spine dulled & grubby, gilt decoration on the upper cover bright, a little yellowing to the page edges at the beginning of the book, a fair copy. Biography of James A Garfield [ 1831 - 1881 ] who was the 20th President of the United States. He served just 200 days in office, being mortally wounded after 120 days as President. The brief tenure of his Presidency mean he achieved little.

Book grades are given book then dustjacket (if any) Running from F - Fine, VG - Very Good, G - Good, P - Poor. A fine book will look almost like the day it was bought, a VG one will have some evidence of prior ownership, G means a nice clean copy, obviously secondhand & P implies a COMPLETE copy that has suffered a hard life & will need some TLC. We take into account the books age when grading, so a 250 year old book graded as VG will look more second hand that a 5 year old book graded the same. On the Net since 1998. All prices are in GBP.
