From the dust jacket: "In his fearless pursuit of the evil, hooded band of desperadoes known as the Night Legion, the Lone Ranger faces death at every turn in the road - for the Night Legion has sworn to get him! Has the mystery surrounding the Whitcomb Ranch any connection with the Night Legion; what was the map the hooded bandits murdered Joe Frisby to get? Who was the villainous leader, so protected even from his own men? Except for his magnificent horse, Silver, and his faithful Indian, Tonto, the Lone Ranger single-handed snatched helpless victims from the very clutches of the band and tracked the murderous thieves to their secret hideout, finally to their secret hideout, finally to unmask the clever disguise of their mysterious leader."
