Description

Washington D.C.: Zenger, 1980. Hardcover. Fair. Uncorrected proof. xi, 220pp. Blue clothcovered boards with a black illustration on the front board and black lettering on the spine. All the leaves have neatly been removed from the binding and are loose but remain in order and the original front endpapers with map illustration remain intact and attached to the front board, the boards having rubbing and bumping, thus fair only, lacking the dust jacket. This is an original copy from the 1940s published by Dodd, Mead & Company that the publishing house, Zenger disassembled before adding additional information to the title pages and elsewhere to serve as a mock-up of for their 1980 reprint of the title. Zenger was a small publisher that specialized in reprints of old military and history books. Not so convenient to read, but for the avid Zenger collector it's a once in a lifetime find!
