London: Muller, Blond & White,, 1985. First edition, first impression, inscribed by Dodie Smith on the front free endpaper: "With many thanks. Dodie Smith". Loosely inserted is an inscribed Christmas card signed by Dodie and Alec Beesley, her husband. This is the fourth volume in Smith's autobiography series - a fifth volume was planned but not issued. The first three volumes focused on her childhood and life in Manchester and London. Look Back With Gratitude focuses on the years Smith spent in America and her travels with Beesley, complete with photographs. Octavo. Original brown cloth, spine lettered in gilt. With pictorial dust jacket. With 24 photographic plates. Yellowing to edges, browning on plate 23: jacket unclipped, slightly sunned, damp stain on crown of rear panel: a near-fine copy in like jacket.
