Creasing and small tears to edges of unclipped dustwrapper, also some small bits missing along top edge, minor bumping to spine ends and corners of blue boards, original owner's name on f/ep, some yellowing to the pages, but otherwise a not too bad, tight copy of this hard-cover book. The author's impressions of the south Pacific (New Guinea, New Caledonia, New Hebrides, Fiji and Tahiti) where he sailed as a deck officer in the ships Sisiphus and Donnybrook (false names according to one website, which them as a British Phosphate Commission ship, and Bololo). Also looks at Queensland. 198pp, endpaper map (printed upside-down at the front but right way up at the back).. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
