This First Printing is in very good condition with a former owner's bookplate on the front endsheet. Fine- in Fine- Dust Jacket. A near perfect copy with typical aging to the text-block with a hint it was probably read once, very slight aging to the boards, straight corners, slight hint of shelf-wear, tiny pinpricks to the upper and lower front corners of the jacket. We could only find one copy of this at auction in the past 50 years and only three in libraries. Of the three copies in libraries, two of them lack the 3rd volume. Full contemporary calf. Both volumes with green and red morocco spine labels, lettered in gilt. Board edges stamped in blind. Previous owner's bookplate and old ink signature on front pastedown of each volume.
