The plates depict views of important places in the life of Byron, famous historical (Napoleon, Queen Charolotte) and literary figures (Rousseau, Coleridge, Shelley), and several of his lovers. COSWAY STYLE BINDINGS are traditional leather bindings with miniature paintings inset outside or inside the covers. These beautiful bindings are named after Richard Cosway, the acclaimed English miniaturist portrait painter from the Regency era.
