Office of the Attorney General of Mexico, Mexico City, 1934; First Edition; 8vo, 133 pages; printed wraps. History of the struggle between the civil government and Catholic Church in Mexico, by Don Emilio Portes Gil, who was president of Mexico from 1928-1930, during the period of the Maximato. Frontispiece photo portrait of President Abelardo L. Rodriquez, who held office at time of publication. Inscribed on the title page to Los Angeles attorney and early Mexican-American political activist Antonio Castellanos as follows: "Sr. Lic. Antonio Castellanos: Sirvase aceptar como prueba de amistad de su amigo, A.M. Villarreal." The inscription is dated at Los Angeles, Calif., March 4, 1935. Very Good, clean, crisp, bright, small corner chip at lower left front and rear wraps.
