Herrsching, Germany: Manfred Pawlak Verlagsgesellschaft mbH. Very Good+ in Very Good- dust jacket. [c.1970s]. Hardcover. A two-volume set offering the complete wood-engraved illustrations of Ludwig Richter (1803-1884). Mr. Richter was also a painter and etcher. His work was widely published in Germany, typically showing domestic scenes of family or country life; also accompanying well-known works such as the Bible or writings of Goethe, Schiller or the Brothers Grimm. This work is in the German language, including all captions for the approximately 2600 woodcuts displayed. With an introduction by Wolf Stubbe. --- In textured red paper-covered boards with gilt-stamped spine titling. Volumes wrapped in dust jackets with representative artwork by Richter. --- A clean, tightly-bound copy lacking significant damages but leaves are slightly tanned. Dust jackets with a few tape-repaired tears and minor yellowing, otherwise intact and protected in removable mylar wrappers.; Octavo - 8 to 9 in. tall; 1725 pages .
