Clean, square, and tight. Pages are in Near Fine condition with only occasional minor foxing. The binding is marbled boards with matching marbled endpapers and page edges. Leather spine and corners. The spine is lettered in gold over two red leather labels. Spine chipped at top. Small piece (1.5 inch) missing from foot of the spine. Hardcover. First Edition. Illustrated. Index. On the front pastedown endpaper are the armorial bookplates of Frances Anne Kenrick and Wm. Fred D'Arley.. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good condition. 8vo. vi, 570pp.
