Jim Fraiser is the author of fourteen books about the history, architecture, and culture of the Deep South, including The Majesty of the Mississippi Delta, The Majesty of Eastern Mississippi and the Coast, Mississippi River Country Tales: A Celebration of 500 Years of Deep South History, and Vanished Mississippi Gulf Coast, all published by Pelican. He is a federal administrative law judge, adjunct law professor, and regular contributing book reviewer to numerous Deep South magazines and newspapers. He resides in Madison, Mississippi.
Pat Caldwell, a partner in the law firm Riley, Caldwell, Cork & Alvis, P.A., has served as general counsel of BancorpSouth, Inc., BancorpSouth Bank, and its respective subsidiaries. He is a Taylor Medalist and past president of the Lee County Young Lawyers Association and was a Mid-South Super Lawyer for 2010 and 2011. He lives in Tupelo, Mississippi.
An expert on Mobile history, John Sledge is an architectural historian for the Mobile Historic Development Commission. A past president of the Historic Mobile Preservation Society, he founded Church Street Graveyard Preservation Foundation, Inc. Sledge is on the board of the Friends of Magnolia Cemetery and has received many awards for his writing and historical contributions. He is the books editor for the Mobile Press-Register and has published books, articles, essays, and encyclopedia entries about the Deep South. He and his wife reside in Fairhope, Alabama.
