London: Thomas C. Jack, 1883. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo. Pp. xxii, [17]-687, frontis (folding plate), illus., 32 folding maps (2 coloured), 3 plates (1 coloured). Publisher's green cloth with gilt titles to front board and spine, boards decorated in blind. The boards generally clean, edges a little rubbed and bumped, school prize bookplate to front paste-down, paper over hinges split, but the boards still holding tight, the binding tight and the book clean throughout. First British edition.
