Details the physical geography of Manitoba, climate, flora, fruits and plants, raising wheat and other cereal crops, grasses, stock raising, stock raising in the Bow River District compared to Montana, water, fuel, timber, mammals, birds, reptiles, fishes and insects, minerals, churches and schools, Indians, and much more. There is a section that provides advice to immigrants with regards to reaching the country and what to do when they get there. Also advice to settlers and travelers. Peel 1081 says "Begg's appendix is one of the earliest references to ranching in present day Alberta." Near fine, bright, tight copy. PEEL 1081.
