A mid-nineteenth-century English edition of this French novel, originally written by Antoine Francois Prevost and published in Paris in 1731. This is the seventh and final novel in this French series about love and loss. This series (Mémoires et aventures d'un homme de qualité), by noted French author Antoine Francois Prevost, tells the story of hero Des Grieux as he runs away with his lover, Manon, to New Orleans. Containing thirteen engraved plates and numerous in-text engravings all by Tony Johannot. Rebound in half calf with marbled boards. In half calf binding with marbled boards. Externally, shelf wear to the boards and rubbing to the spine and extremities. A scuff to the front board resulting in a small amount of loss to the paper binding. Internally, hinges are tender. Remaining binding is firm. Pages contain the odd spot, but are generally bright and clean. Good
