Toronto: The Manufacturers' List Co., 1907. 544 pp + LXVIII pp, 10" H - dark blue cloth with gilt lettering and white call numbers on spine, gilt lettering and decoration on front board. B&w advertisements, some with illustrations. Title page continues: "An Index of Articles Manufactured in Canada, with a Classified List of Eminent Firms who Manufacture such Articles. Alphabetically arranged for use of Buyers and Sellers throughout the World." Part I. Showing approximately the Investments in Manufacturing Industries named; also, Business Announcements of leading Manufacturers. Part II. Index to Articles. Part III. Classified Article Headings, with Names and Addresses of Manufacturers of such Articles. Part IV. Alphabetical arranged List of Manufacturers throughout the Dominion - The kind of Business and the kind of Power used. An interesting commercial and social look at a time when Canada manufactured everything from "Accumulators - Hydraulic" to "Zincs - Battery", when The John Inglis Company were engineers, boilermakers and foundrymen, when harnesses and ploughs were produced in Toronto, carriages in Montreal, quartz crushers in New Glasgow, woolens in Morden and bricks in New Westminster. Very light broiwning to the pages, rubbing with some color offset on the front pastedown and the adjacent advertisement page, 'Dept. of Trade and Commerce' completed bookplate on the front pastedown - also their ink name stamp and a perforated name stamp are on the title page, a small date stamp is on the first advertisement page, wrinkling and some paper loss on the front inside hinge - hinge is holding firmly, some soft wrinkling near the hinge on approx. the first 20 pages, there is a series of tiny holes down the pages of I to VIII near the hinge in Part IV, bump at the top corner of the covers - migrates into the several adjacent pages, wrinkling and tiny tears at the top/bottom of the spine, light to moderate edge wear on boards, several small stain marks on the boards, light soiling to the top of the text block - also some shelf soiling on the bottom of the text block, light browning to the edges of the text block.. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket.
