About This Item

Berkeley, California: University of California Press, 1937. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Nearly Fine/Very Good +. Cloth. First Edition, 1st Printing. Quarto. A near fine copy in a very good+ jacket with shallow chip/ tear at the head of the spine and some creasing to the edges of the jacket. Book with very light toning to the top edge, otherwise bright and clean internally. Nice example of this scarce dust wrapper, price clipped. The large format and the fragile nature of the jacket are here in a vibrant blue with the baleful look in the eye of the Bluefin Tuna on the front cover is clear, bright. Photographic plates by Emerson and the charming and colorful paltes by Malmquist make this scholarlly publication a collectible and important addition to California natural history. 69 plates.
