Salem, Mass: Peabody Museum, 1968. First Edition . Hardcover. VG/FN/VG. xvii, 530 pp. + colophon. Blue cloth. No. 15 of 750 numbered copies. Type design & composition by Anthoensen Press. With over 1500 illustrations, sixty in full color. Most major marine artists are included and nearly every type of sailing craft and steamship. With a 1966 typed letter, signed from Ernest Dodge, the director of the Peabody Museum, describing the progress of the book: "We are aiming for a September 1967 publication...have received proof on forty-four of the colored plates..." Also with a 23 page catalogue of oil and watercolor paintings in the Peabody Museum laid in. Two small rust marks from the staples of the catalogue by the front hinge else VG/FN in VG dust jacket.
