Five spine compartments separated by raised bands. Partial loss of spine label & worn & rubbed at cover edges with tiny single cracks at head and heel of spine. All edges gilt. Beautifully marbled, four-coloured endpapers. Hinge cracked between half-title and title page but otherwise tight and robust. Two previous owners' inscriptions, one on verso of front free endpaper dated 1894 and one on preliminary page dated 1992. Both neat.
