New York and Tarzana, California: Grosset and Dunlap; Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc; The Library of America, 1930. This is the Mars/Barsoom series as it was published in Burroughs' lifetime. The eleventh book in the sequence, John Carter of Mars, was printed by Canaveral Press a few years after the author's death and is not included here. It was a collection of two stories, one of which was actually written by Burroughs' son, John. Zeuschner's bibliography was used here for all but the present edition of Princess, which hadn't been published when Zeuschner's book made it into print. In terms of condition, most of them are just average, mostly VG or VG- jackets and books. There are three major exceptions: Princess of Mars is from 2012 in a near fine dj and book. The dj on Synthetic Men of Mars is a replica, not the original. And the dj on the first edition of Llana of Gathol has tape stains around the edgesof the dustjacket and on the endpapers. All titles fall into the 12mo size, and these are the books: 1. A Princess of Mars: First Thus, printed by The Library of America, 2012, with an introduction by Junot Diaz; red cloth lettered in black on the front panel and spine; headband; (xlviii) 303 numbered pages; dj art by Frank E. Schoonover. 2. The Gods of Mars: This is the second printing from Grosset and Dunlap, 348 numbered pages bound in light green cloth with black letters and an olive-green arc on the front panel; dj art by Frank E. Schoonover. 3. Warlord of Mars: This is the first printing from Burroughs, 296 numbered pages bound in the gray boards with dark brown lettering on the front panel and spine; brown upper edge; dj and frontis by J. Allen St. John. 4. Thuvia, Maid of Mars: This is the second printing from Grosset and Dunlap, 1921 or 1922, 256 numbered pages, bound in red cloth and decorated in black on the front panel and spine; dj art and interior plates by J. Allen St. John. 5. The Chessmen of Mars: This is a later Grosset and Dunlap reprint from after 1924, 375 numbered pages, bound in red cloth with black lettering on the front panel and spine; dj art and interior plates by J. Allen St. John. 6. The Master Mind of Mars: This is the first Burroughs edition from 1948, 312 numbered pages in gray cloth with dark red lettering on the front panel and spine; dustjacket and frontis by J. Allen St. John. 7. A Fighting Man of Mars: This appears to be the first Grosset and Dunlap printing from 1932, bound in red cloth with black lettering on the front panel and spine, 319 numbered pages; wraparound dj painting and frontis by Hugh Hutton. 8. Swords of Mars: This is the second Burroughs printing from 1948, 315 numbered pages bound in gray cloth with dark red lettering on the front panel and spine; wraparound dj painting and frontis by J. Allen St. John. 9. Synthetic Men of Mars: This is the first Burroughs printing in gray cloth with dark red lettering on the front panel and spine, 315 numbered pages; dj art and frontis by John Coleman Burroughs but unfortunately, the dustjacket is a facsimile. 10. Llana of Gathol: This is the first edition, published by Burroughs in the blue boards with red lettering on the front panel and spine; red upper edge and 319 numbered pages; dustjacket and illustrations by J.
