Renazzi was a Roman Jurist who, like Beccaria, tried to apply the principles of Enlightenment thinking to criminal law. Drawn from Renazzi's four-volume Elementa Juris Criminalis (first edition 1773-1786), De Sortilegio et Magico calls for the decriminalization of witchcraft and magic. Exterior shows minor handling wear corner bumps, the worst issue being several small spots near the spine edges. Interior biting is good, no hinge issues. Pages are faintly tone due to age and some minor spotting is present. Generically inscribed signed by the author on the front end page: "Best wishes of Manly P. Hall". Front end page also has residue from pencil pricing along the top edge and corner. Stated first edition on the title page. A scarce book and extremely rare to have signed by the author.
