New York: William Morrow & Co, 1980. SIGNED AND INSCRIBED BY AUTHOR on front end page - "For Peter P. Jacobi, You were one of the first to tell me I was a writer and I've never forgotten it. with good affection Stephen Hunter Columbia, Md. Feb. 27, 1980". With laid in ALS on the back of a sheet of office computer paper, dated the next day, Feb. 28, 1980 - " Dear Professor Jacobi - Please forgive the informality of this note - I'm rather sick of typewriters right now. But I wanted you to have this in special remembrance of all your kindnesses to me - the years '64 -'68 Steve". Also laid in a a BOMC newsletter for his 2nd book "The Second Saladin", and a 3" x 5" slip of paper with Hunter's handwritten name and address in Maryland. First Edition, First Printing, with complete number row, of his first novel. Near Fine, top edge soiled, in a Near Fine dust jacket, light edge wear. A great Association Copy, Peter Jacobi, currently Professor Emeritus in Journalism at Indiana University, was Hunter's professor and mentor while he was an undergrad at Northwestern University 1964-68. . SIGNED AND INSCRIBED BY AUTHOR. First Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Association Copy.
