Adyar (India): The Theosophical Publishing House, 1979. Reprint. Hardcover. Very Good/Poor. Light shelf wear to tips, corners, and edges of the book; the jacket is in pieces with a bit more than half the spine missing. Twelfth printing. The author, originally an Anglican priest, became attracted to the esoteric. He was a member of the Theosophical Society, Co-Freemasonry, author on occult subjects and co-initiator with J. I. Wedgwood of the Liberal Catholic Church. After joining the Theosophical Society he met and became a pupil of it's co-founder Madame Blavatsky. After her death he remained a close associate of Annie Besant, it's new co-president in London. Every effort is made to ship all books and other items within 24 hours. Clean recycled packing material will be used when possible. The Book Shed has a been a member of the Vermont Antiquarian Bookseller's Association since 1997.
