About This Item

New York: Henry Holt and Company, 1992. First edition. Near fine.. Signed uncorrected proof of this acclaimed poetic memoir. Uncommon format of this extended meditation on the natural world from this well-regarded poet. Part memoir on working his land in Wyoming, part prose poem, part philosophical consideration of nature and landscape, it remains perhaps Galvin's best known work and has never been out-of-print. 8.5'' x 5.5''. Original printed wraps with advance quotes from William Kittredge and Jim Harrison taped to front cover, as issued. Publication date hand-written in red to cover and spine as well, also as issued. [10], 230 pages. Mild wear overall. Two sets of staple holes to front cover, likely from attached promotional materials (not present). Else clean and sound.
