Hutchinson [with] Hurst & Blackett,, [1939]. 8vo., First Edition thus, with title-vignette and over 200 illustrations (a number full-page) in the text, some light and occasional annotation in pencil only, free endpapers faintly browned; original black cloth, upper board blocked and lettered in blind, gilt back, case very lightly shaken, upper hinge a little loose (but binding entirely sound), a remarkably well-preserved, bright, clean copy. FIRST ILLUSTRATED EDITION TO APPEAR IN BRITAIN. This title is offered for sale only as an historical document and may not be purchased by residents of those countries (including Austria, France, Germany and Italy) in which it is banned. VERY SCARCE IN THIS CONDITION. See Pastore Stanik & Brewster 111.
